Per the Village's Zoning Ordinance, Section 13.01-21, political signs are allowed to be displayed in Itasca. Political or campaign signs are defined as “a temporary sign announcing or supporting political candidates or issues in connection with any national, state, or local election. Political or campaign signs can be displayed during election season with the following guidelines:
- Signs can only be located on private property.
- No signs may be located within a public right-of-way. In most cases, the public right-of-way is the area between the sidewalk and the street (the parkway). Signs on public property may be removed by the Village.
- Each sign must be less than six square feet in area and may be double-sided.
