Trailer Requests
If you live in Itasca and feel that you have a problem with speeding vehicles in your neighborhood, you are encouraged to request the trailer to be scheduled in your area by calling the Police Department at 630-773-1004.

Purpose
If you are an Itasca resident, you have probably seen the interesting device the Police Department uses to assist in combating speeding vehicles and to remind drivers to watch their speed. The trailer helps promote speed limit compliance in:

• Neighborhoods
• School zones
• Construction sites
• Dangerous areas

Description
The trailer is a portable, self-contained speed display unit that is towed to the desired location. It is left on the roadway to display speeds of oncoming vehicles on a highly visible LED (light emitting diode) display.

A speed limit sign mounted on the unit reminds drivers what that the actual speed limit is on the roadway that they are on. The unit also has the capability of recording the speeds of the vehicles.
