"Fish with the Cops" June 24 from 10am to 12:30pm


Our annual “Fish With The Cops” event will be held this Sunday, June 24, from 10 to 12:30pm at Happy Acres Pond on Bryn Mawr. Occasionally a fish or two is caught as well, but if not the police officers will provide plenty of hot dogs and soda.

4th of July Fireworks - Hamilton Lakes - Itasca

Enjoy the largest fireworks in the Chicago area at Hamilton Lakes, Itasca. Live music begins at 7pm with Pat McKillen and continues at 8pm with Maggie Speaks with guests Fran and Anton Cosmo. Admission to the event is free. On-site parking is $25 per car.

Resurfacing of the Metra Reserve Lot Begins June 18

Work will be done in 2 phases. Construction on the north half of the Metra lot will begin June 18 and last approximately 1 to 2 weeks. When the north half of the lot is completed the south half of the lot will be closed for approximately 1 to 2 weeks.

Medinah Road crossing replacement begins June 20

Medinah Road will be closed at the intersection with Metra’s Milwaukee District West Line from June 20 to June 30 while Metra crews work to replace and resurface the railroad crossing.

Nicor Gas Utility Project 2018

Nicor is planning to repair, rehab, and replace aging gas lines throughout Itasca. The reasons for the improvements are to ensure its customers have access to the energy they need and to increase the safety of its natural gas distribution system.

ComEd Tree Trimming April, May and June in Itasca

ComEd will be in Itasca trimming trees, branches and vines that interfere or have the potential to interfere with power lines beginning in April and ending in June. In some cases tree removal may be required. All work is performed by trained arborists.
